Grants of up to $1,000 to South Carolina artists, nonprofit organizations, and units of government to improve the quality of arts programs and projects. Funding is intended to promote excellence in the arts and community arts development, as well as professional and career development initiatives that will help artists and arts administration staff. Priority will be given to individuals or organizations that have projects in the SCAC’s Opportunity Initiative Counties: Allendale, Calhoun, Dillon, Edgefield, Laurens, Lee, Marion, Marlboro, and Saluda.
Artist applicants must be a practicing artist in dance, music, opera, musical theatre, theatre, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, and/or literature.
Arts Project Support Grants are awarded to help pay actual project costs; ordinary living expenses during the project cannot be supported with SCAC funds.
